Refreshed: Air Max 90 Wheat Skulls

The Year was 2007 and the Air Max 90 Wheat Skulls were one of my first air max 90 purchases while I was slowly getting into the Air Max game that year. The unique colorway of the Wheat Skulls caught my eye immediately one day, while on my hour lunch break from working my part time job at Wal-Mart. Since it was pay day, I figured I would try them on and maybe, just maybe, treat myself. Luckily for me, they were on sale and it made the purchase even easier.

Getting home from work finally and being able to take in my purchase, the colorway was amazing, but something was missing. It needed something different in my eyes and I just could not figure out what it was. After wearing them a few times I thought to myself, “these need a white mid-soles”.

Fast forward to 2020, after mentioning my vision on an episode of True to Size. One of the Sole Family from Instagram (@northern.soles) hit me up and said that he wanted to try and turn my vision into reality. After having these sneakers for 13 years, this was a must.

These were the end result, I mean the yellow laces I believe came from a pair of Vans that I had. @Northern.Soles was able to match the yellow perfectly. Literally what I imagined in my head he was able to make into reality. Huge thank you to the @Northern.Soles family for doing this up and giving my 90s a huge refresh.

Looking forward to rocking these more often.
