CONVERSE FASTBREAK 83 MID

Let me start by saying these things are straight fuego on a stick…

After it’s initial return as a part of Jordan Brand’s “The 2 That Started It All” pack, Converse’s Fastbreak Mid is back again, this time in solo form. The brand has released a handful of colours in the 80’s basketball sneaker and they are now available on Converse.ca and at select Foot Locker locations. At a modest price of $110.00, you really can’t go wrong, especially when it’s such an easy pair to wear.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to have a care package delivered to me from the Converse family, and I was surprised to see that I was sent a pair of the White/Green offering from the latest rerelease. After seeing these all over the interwebs and the ‘gram, I was ecstatic to have a pair in hand, and on foot.

The shoes are slightly different than the 1983 pair, but the updates to the silhouette have them even better suited for every day wear. One of the major upgrades includes a full length Lunarlon insole that gives you the unreal comfort of a running shoe, but still look uber street-savy. The upper is nylon with some leather accents sprinkled in to give you a little extra support. A padded collar completes the upper with a snug fit that hugs your foot.

I put these on the today with some tall, white, crew socks, and man am I obsessed. The vintage look that is extremely on-trend, and the comfort of the Lunarlon make this pair a staple in this summer’s rotation. The green pops off the white paneling on the shoe, adding some pizazz while staying relatively low key. Expect a heavy dose of these on my Instagram feed, and don’t be surprised if you see me rocking that purple pair soon as well.
