This morning Converse officially introduced themselves into the Canadian interwebs with the launch of Converse.ca. The sentiments of the brand indicate that they believe this was long overdue, and with that motivation, they have begun their “Now Internetting” campaign. First off, when I first read the words “Now Internetting”, I literally giggled out loud – but that’s just a side note.
We received a crazy promo package courtesy of Converse in celebration of their newest venture. The theme of the package is a satiric take on their late arrival to the whole internet thing. The box takes the form of a 1990’s-style computer, and inside was a description of the brand’s new entry into the world of ‘Internetting’. Floppy discs (yes floppy disks) feature different categories of products that are available on the site. The whole package is topped off by one of those scratchy things that changes when you look at it from different angles. If you’re a 90’s baby you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m a sucker for collectibles and special packaging, so I’m super geeked about this whole thing.
Converse Canada has been a staple in every Canadian’s wardrobe for an eternity, so obviously this was a logical step for the brand. After about fifteen minutes of browsing the site, it’s clear that Converse wanted to create a one-stop-shop where their customers could shop for everything they needed. You can pick up their newest models such as the Flyknit edition, and the Chuck II; but there’s also a plethora of classics for the OG’s out there who can’t get enough of the timeless silhouettes. The amount of product available on this site is unreal!
The site looks dope, and hopefully this expansion means we’ll be able to get our hands on some of Converse’s crazy collaborations and limited releases. Thanks, as always, to the family at Converse Canada, and congrats on the beautiful new website! Also, it’s about time!
