When you mix Democracy and sneakers – this is what you wind up with.
Last March, Nike decided they were going to do something different. Something they’ve never done before. They were going to let the consumer decide which pair of shoes they’d release for this year’s Air Max Day… After a hard fought battle, and many ups and downs, the ultimate winner was none other than the Air Max 1 Atmos collaboration from the 2007 “Zoo Pack”.
The shoe remains virtually unchanged from the original release, which will make a lot of sneakerheads extremely happy come March 18th. The infamous elephant print that is generally found on the Jordan 3 covers the mudguard and the collar of the shoe. Jade hits are found on the glossy swoosh as well as on the Nike Air branding at the booty. And the majority of the upper is comprised of a super plush black suede. It’s literally the same shoe, just produced 10 years later.
My favourite part, other than the crazy packing on my pair, is the fact that the insole bares the same graphic as the OG pair from back in the day. For some reason that just made the entire shoe for me. But then again, I’m a sucker for the details.
Look for these to release online on Nike.ca (I even linked the launch page because I’m such a gem) on Saturday, March 18th. As well as in store at Livestock, Capsule, and Haven.
